Hi! Please don't forget to label your posts with the date the reading is due and your name and last name. So, for example, for the first blog post I would label my post with these two tags "09/11/2014" and "Ali Bolcakan" [without the quotes of course].

The explanations interpret the Book of Daniels as a reflection of the hardships of the Jewish people while the Book of Revelations is a Christian interpretation of the original text. The Book of Revelations is not unique; one of the interpretations states that their are 30-40 different ancient texts that illustrate apocalyptic themes. But I think what makes the story different, was how violent and imaginative it was; although, one could argue in the present, we see violent depictions all the time in the media and that the text has been interpreted by Hollywood numerously, we still are fascinated by it. I believe it's because we are obsessed with the idea of "judgment day" and apocalypse. It reflects our fear of mortality and illustrates how vulnerable we truly are.
